Quick Contemporary Christmas Cards

Hello Friends and Merry Christmas!  It's crunch time for all of us so if you still have "make Christmas cards" on your list or if you want to start on next year's stash, I've got some great ideas for you.  Not only are these handsome cards quick to make, but you need only a few inexpensive supplies -- all available at The Stamp Act. Yeah!

The cards start with this 12" x 12" acetate sheet of Christmas designs from PinkFresh Studio's Oh Joy collection.  The sheet is printed in bright gold on heavy acetate.  Each sheet yields at least 10 focal images and costs only $2.00!

I also used PinkFresh Studio's Oh Joy 6" x 6" paper pad.  You will love this paper pad and be pleasantly surprised by the heavy weight of the paper.  The images are unique and each pad of 32 pages has 2 each of 16 designs.  Here's a link so you can see the individual designs.  The paper pad is $7.00.

To add sparkle and shine to the cards I used gold and red glitter tape from Best Creation.  It's great as an adhesive, a border or just an accent.

Here are the cards I made with these supplies.  For this first card, I cut the packages image in half so I could make two cards with it. I adhered the acetate to a white card with the red glitter tape; stamped the sentiment (Taylored Expressions In & Out Christmas) and embossed it in white; and added gold stars (die cut from gold mirror cardstock with Taylored Expressions Starry Nights die).

Ho-Ho-HoFor this card I used a sheet of paper printed with the packages from the Oh Joy paper pad and added the Christmas lights die cut with the TE Skinny Mini Borders Christmas.  I die cut them from white cardstock, colored them with Copic markers, glued them to the card and added Glossy Accents to the top of each bulb.  The sentiment is from TE's In & Out Christmas stamp set.

Lights-PackagesThis is a quicky card.  Mount the acetate image over the decorative paper and adhere to the card with tape or glue.  Add some gold glitter tape as an accent to the top and the Joy (TE Script Joy) die cut from white glitter paper.  Done!

Make-it-a-DecemberFor this pretty card simply adhere the decorative paper to a white card and cut aout 3/4" off the bottom of the front panel.  Adhere the acetate border (I used Tombow Mono Multi glue) to the bottom of the front panel, die cut the sentiment (Poppystamps Old Fashioned Merry Christmas) from gold mirrorcard and adhere it above the acetate border.  Add a few sequins and you're done!

The next card is just as easy.  Cut the mistletoe panel, adhere with glitter tape over decorative paper (adhered to a white card) and add a festive sentiment (Penny Black stamp set Festive Snippets).

MistletoeLove this next card -- probably because it's so colorful!  Again adhere the decorative paper to a white card and color in the trees with a green Copic marker.  Die cut the Gift Stack solid background (Impression Obsession) from red cardstock, and the gift stack outline image from red striped and green polka dot papers.  Cut the gift stack outline from white cardstock and adhere it over the red cardstock background.  Paper piece or inlay the stripe and dot papers and add a sweet sentiment (Penny Black).

No-peekingHere's where I used the other half of the packages acetate image.  Same design as the first card above.

Santa-Coming Another pretty card with decorative paper (Memory Box), gold acetate image and gold glitter tape.  I added a snowflake cut from gold mirrorcard.

ShineSame design as the cards above with a sentiment (Taylored Expressions Deck the Halls) that matches the swags of lights.

Shine-Bright Another quickie using decorative paper, a sentiment embossed in white and mounted on top of gold glitter tape with a few stars.

Tis-the-Season Similiar design on this card.

Wonderful-time

Several customers have already bought the Tonic/Tim Holtz Guillotine Comfort Trimmer for themselves for Christmas!  Priced at just $26.49, this cutter is economical and efficient.  This is the cutter that I have used for more years than I can count and the blade stays sharp and the cuts stay true.  The ruler across the top goes to 6" so there's no need to get out the bigger cutter to cut a typical A2 size card.  Trust me, this will be the last cutter you buy!
