Christmas Cards and Tags
December 15, 2016
Hello Friends! Are you as busy as I am with all your Christmas preparations? Usually I visit my sister for Christmas so I haven't decorated my house for Christmas in years. This year she, her husband and one daughter are coming here on their drive from Dallas to Las Vegas to visit their other daughter. So for more days than I want to count I have gone into the back of the storage unit to dig out all my Christmas decorations. I found most of my decorations in tact and working, however the Christmas tree was rather sad looking and had to be replaced. Fortunately I ordered one, it came quickly and I love it.
Please don't look too closely at the crooked star on the top. I am too short to put it on straight! Fortunately my brother-in-law is very tall and will fix it when he comes.
Christmas Cards
So today I will share with you a few miscellaneous Christmas cards that may inspire you if not this year, maybe next. This first card is so happy with its colorful snowman.
Snowman – Penny Black stamp sets Frosty’s Wish and Holiday Snippets
The sentiment on this card comes from a Taylored Expressions stamp set called Spoiler Alert which is full of witty sentiments.
Underwear – Taylored Expressions stamp set Spoiler Alert; TE dies Summer Confetti and Banner Stacklets 2; TE embossing folders Weathered and Corrugated; design inspired by Kim Singdahlsen
The next two cards feature penguins all caught up in the Christmas spirit -- or at least the lights! -- from the Taylored Expressions stamp set Deck the Halls (with matching dies).
Penguin Happy Holidays – Taylored Expressions stamps and dies Deck the Halls; Memory Box die Grand Snow Globe; TE die Little Bits Snowflake Confetti; design inspired by Shelly Mercado
Penguin Get Caught Up – Taylored Expressions stamps and dies Deck the Halls; TE dies Little Bits Snowflake Confetti, Stitched Frame Stacklets 1 and Skinny Mini Holiday Borders; design inspired by Taylor Van Bruggen
This next card is made with the new Impression Obsession die called Wreath Builder. The die features a circle frame die as well as four different types of greenery, each with a right and left.
I cut lots of greenery and berries and glued them to the circle. I could have added a ribbon bow or a die cut bow but I thought it was already full enough. The wreath is mounted on top of a pattern die cut with IO's new Geometric Cutout 2 die.
Wreath Builder – Impression Obsession dies Wreath Builder, Geometric Cutout 2 and Merry Christmas; design inspired by Vicki Garrett
Last but not least if this beautiful snowy card using Memory Box dies.
Snowflake Corner – Memory Box dies Crystal Snowflake Corner Frame and Grand Pine Tree; Memory Box stencil Scattered Flakes; Poppystamps die Stitched Landscapes; design inspired by Irena Kowalczyk Rudlis
Christmas Tags
I had so much fun this year making tags both for my own holiday gifts and to send to family members for their gifts. I made dozens of tags using the new Taylored Expressions die set Trim the Tag. This die set includes everything you need to first make the tag then to decorate it in Santa, Mrs. Santa and Elf motifs. I cut lots and lots of each element then started decorating tags. You will be surprised how quickly you can make lots of dies.

Below are three photos showing several of the tags I made. After I took the photo, I added red and white twine on the top of each tag. For some tags I added Santa hats with felt trim; buckles cut from gold or silver glitter paper; and lots of fun stamped sentiments on the front and "To, From" on the back of each tag.
To hold the tags I made a box using Taylored Expressions die Tagging Along decorated with the Trim the Tag elements.
Trim the Tag 1 – 3 – Taylored Expressions dies Trim the Tag, Tag Stacklets 1, Tagging Along and Little Bits Santa Hat; TE stamp sets Spoiler Alert and Little Bits of Christmas; designs inspired by Kerri Michaud, Joan Ervin and Danielle Lounds
For my second batch of tags I used a variety of very creative dies from Impression Obsession.
IO Tags – Impression Obsession dies Gift Stack Cutout, Circle Greetings Cutout, Christmas Tags, Angel set small, Tree Landscape Layers, Christmas Icons and Pine Pair; TE die Little Bits Christmas Tree
See how cute these tags look on packages!
It's always a treat for me to receive handmade cards from customers. Here are a few that arrived recently:
