Here’s a new card layout that I ran across on the My Favorite Things website. It ,ay look complicated but it’s super easy! Simply cut a 8½” x 11” piece of black cardstock in half lengthwise so it’s 4¼” x 11”. Score at 5½” then select a rectangle die and cut the bottom of the card so it has “legs.” You can cut both sides of the card at once. Either stamp white cardstock with a woodgrain stamp in light/medium brown or emboss white cardstock with a woodgrain embossing folder (Sizzix or Darice). Measure the width of the “legs” and cut strips to form the four sides of the easel. Stamp your sentiment in the middle of the chalkboard (I used Hero Arts Unicorn white ink) and add any embellishments.
For the Birthday Card Easel sentiment, I used a Hero Arts birthday set and Paper Smooches Scripty Sayings clear set. I cut Penny Black die Uplifting (balloons) from colored cardstock and made the “strings” from wired twine (we sell it). I added some round metallic circles in black.
For the Teacher Easel I used a stamp (Love Teaching) and a die (Blackboard) from Taylored Expressions and an apple from the Mixed Fruit die from Memory Box.

Missing You – For this card I cut a top-fold card (4 1/4" x 11") from white cardstock and cut the top fold of the card with the Memory Box Arched Background die using partial die-cutting. Then I secured the Memory Box Lathenay Stencil on the bottom of the card with Post-it tape and applied Versamark ink through the stencil. I removed the stencil and embossed the card in gold embossing powder. On the top of the card I embossed a stamp from the Paper Smooches Scripty Sayings clear stamp set in gold and added two gold half pearls. Quick and easy! Designer Sue T.
