Masculine Samples and More!

I just got the Xcut “Haberdashery” die cut set back in stock.  You can see from the photo that this set includes 20 dies – for only $25.99!  That’s a great bargain!  Here are 2 samples I made using this set.  BTW:  I also have the kitchen set in stock so come in and see these fun sets for yourself.  On the sewing samples, the sentiments are from Hero Arts "Sew Artsy" and the paper is Carta Bella "Sew Lovely."

Last week I showed you cards made with the Lily Die-namics die from My Favorite Things; now I want to share samples made with the Wildflower Centerpieces die.  This die is called a centerpiece because it cuts the frame with the wildflowers and stems (attached to the frame) then cuts the flowers themselves separately so you can easily glue them over the framed flowers for a 2 tone look.  Here are some samples:

Wildflowers-sunsetFor the card with the pastel flowers, I used the “Shine” stencil from Memory Box to create the sunny background.  The sentiment is from another new MFT set called “Sunflower Sweetheart.”  The sunset card was created using the new round ink blending tool (Tim Holtz for Ranger) and various distress inks.  The sentiment is from Stampendous.

Rhapsody-color-worldI used another Memory Box stencil (Rhapsody) to create this card (inspired by one on the Memory Box blog).  I colored the stencil with Distress inks then embossed the stencil on another piece of white cardstock,  Once embossed, I cut it in half diagonally and framed the colored stencil.  The sentiment was die cut using the Impression Obsession Typewriter Alphabet die (lower case).

GearsHere’s a fun card I copied from the Memory Box blog. It features the Gears Border die and the Mini Gears die.  The background and sentiment are from Stampendous – gears were stamped in Versamark then embossed in clear.  This could be a great masculine card for a new graduate, new job or even Father’s Day.

Switching “gears” (ha! ha!) to a pretty card for a new graduate, this bird is perfect.  I used dies from Impression Obsession including: Large Bird on Branch, Square Shaker and Typewriter Alphabet lower case.  For the sentiment inside I used the new “You Can Fly” clear stamp set form IO.  I used one other die – Spellbinders Squares small. This card was inspired by one on the IO blog and there are a few tricks to it to hide the adhesives.

MITI-ShipDo you need a card from Father’s Day or a male birthday?  This one from Impression Obsession is perfect for any male occasion.  All stamps are from IO: Roped Ship, Wooden Plank background, Happy Father’s Day and Happy Birthday.  It is stamped in Walnut Stain Distress ink then watercolored with the same ink.  This card will be an added bonus card to all classes in June! (Language Police -- yes it needs an apostrophe -- we will add one when we make the card!!!)

I hope your Memorial Day weekend was fun.  I was all ready to use my new smoker and the heating element wouldn’t heat up!  The chicken was already in the frig being brined so I had to quickly regroup and roast it in the oven.  It was delicious!  A new heating element is on its way so I don’t have to take it apart and try to box it up again!

Stop in soon and see all the new goodies at The Stamp Act!
