Easter Bunnies and Spring Flowers

Good day and thanks for joining me.  I have so much to share with you – all inspired by Spring and Easter.  The days are getting longer and warmer and our thoughts turn to flowers, bunnies and cute little chicks.  How wonderful it is that we can can express ourselves through such a creative and beautiful art form. I spoke last night with a good friend (since we were 9 years old!!!) about a box of cards that I had sent her for Christmas.  She was telling me about the people to whom she had sent the cards and I felt so happy that someone who was ill or celebrating their birthday had a little piece of me in their lives too.

This week we will get new orders from Taylored Expressions and Impression Obsession – their dies and stamps are always super popular so lease hurry in to see the latest!  Next week we will (finally) receive the new round ink blending tool from Tim Holtz/Ranger so reserve yours today!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Hello and an early happy St. Patrick’s Day to you!  I Magical-Spring-setrecently received the new Paper Smooches “Magical Spring” clear stamp set which is filled with cute images and clever sentiments.  I enjoyed playing with it so let me share the cards I made with you. While these cards certainly evoke St. Patrick’s Day in color and images, they can be used anytime during the year.  I made the card with the beer steins specifically for my friend Dan’s birthday because he’s Irish and loves beer!  The suds on the beer are made with white Liquid Applique!  Enjoy!

PoppiesH3Thanks to my friend and customer Harriet Head for another fabulous sample card.  She combined paper (Autumn Leaves Glitter Poppy Border), lime glitter paper (American Crafts) and Memory Box die “Prim Poppies” to create a colorful and beautiful card.  Thanks for sharing Harriet!

The Memory Box Spring collection continues to provide endless inspiration for quick, easy and beautiful cards. All these cards were inspired by samples on their website.

Birch-Tree-Red-BirdMy first card features MB’s new Birch Trees stencil.  I embossed the stencil on light green cardstock then, leaving the stencil in place, I sponged on darker green ink.  I added a red bird (Poppystamps die Nestled Bird), a greeting (Paper Smooches Scripty Sayings) and a revere scallop border and decorative paper.  You could use this as a background for die cut birch trees, deer or even bunnies.  Stencils really do provide a wealth of possibilities for backgrounds and foregrounds!

Chesapeake-CircleFor my next card I used MB dies Chesapeake Circle and Precious Butterflies (which come with the little bow attached).  I die cut and embossed the butterfly from white cardstock then sponged on Tumbled Glass distress ink using the die as a stencil.  I adhered the butterfly to the circle then mounted both pieces to the card.  The sentiment is from Amuse Art Stamps.

My last 2 cards are so cute!  They feature several new MB dies including: Gift Bag, Pretty Pumps, Platform Pumps and Alphabet Soup.  Inside the “brown bag” card, I die cut MB’s Fancy Pocket as a gift card holder.  Cute!  The embossing on both these card was done with Lifestyle Crafts embossing folders.  The platform pumps were cut from black cardstock and black glossy cardstock and pieced – a nod to my friend Pat who made a gorgeous showcase of decorated shoes!  The sentiment stamp is a vintage MB stamp.
