Hello Crafty Friends. I hope your summer is starting off well. Yes, it is hot here, but it's nice the mornings and evening are cooler. Things have been really busy here at The Stamp Act – last Friday I received 6 orders! Whew – I had to really work fast to get them all checked in and put out before my Saturday morning class started. As a result the store is full of Memory Box dies; new stamp sets from Paper Smooches; new stamps from Penny Black and Hero Arts; new stamps and dies from Impression Obsession. Please stop in and see what’s new!
Our class this Saturday, June 22 (at 10am and 2pm) will center on Rolled Flowers. Rolled flowers can decorate everything from cards to scrapbook pages to home décor items. Just die cut the flower and roll it up using a quilling tool. It is quick and easy! And the best part is that the flowers come in all kinds of shapes and sizes. Join us to learn how to work with rolled flowers as you create beautiful cards. Please bring your quilling tool.
In this class you will learn how to roll flowers from paper and felt; how to “letterpress” a
frame using an embossing folder; and how to “dress up” a dress form die (sorry
for the pun)! It’s going to be a fun class so please give me a call (915-833-9500) or send me an email if you would like to attend. Here are the samples and the supplies I used to create them.

Saturday, June 29 (at 10am and 2pm) we will use a set of stickers
from Penny Black to create a set of very beautiful cards. Penny Black has already colored the focal images so we can turn our attention to creating equally creative backgrounds. Learn how to blend various Memento inks into just the right shade to match the sticker. Make a beautiful set of cards to give or keep. Here are the samples:
New Stamp Sets
I had so much fun recently playing with a new clear stamp set from Paper Smooches called “I Heart Art.” The set includes lots of fun images and words. I will have more
samples upcoming using this set because I just received the Paint Palette and Paintbrush die set that coordinates with the stamps. For now, let me show you some samples (some inspired by samples on their blog).
The trick to making your color stand out on the black cardstock is really easy. Just emboss your image sin white first then color over the embossed image with Copic markers! For this card I also used a small clear stamp set from Inkadinkado (it's called Blood Splatter because it's a Halloween stamp!).
Another cute set from Paper Smooches called “First Aid Kit” caught my eye too because I have a friend who is recovering from a broken leg. This kit too has coordinating dies and I will show you samples using those later. For now, check out these samples -- the first one is called a Penny Slider card. The "road" was cut with a die from The Cat's Pajamas ("Toppers" and the ambulance mounted on 2 pennies adhered together with foam tape.
I gave a class recently using the Hero Arts “Flower Text” design block stamp. Here are the samples from that class:
Here are a few other samples I have made recently:
Penny Black "Garden Critters" clear stamp set; Hero Arts/Basic Grey "Garden Background"; Sentiment: Hero Arts; Kraft, white and red cardstock; Versamark and white embossing powder; Copic markers; Glossy Accents on the boots. Note: original design seen on their blog).
Memory Box Butterfly Study cling-mounted stamp; Memory Box “Create Art” wood-mounted stamp; Memento inks: Bahama Blue, Cantaloupe, Lu Lu Lavender and Grape Jelly; Memory Box Isabella and Pippi butterfly dies; Hero gemstones Spring Mix (original design seen on their blog)
Memory Box dies: Tiny Bow, Happy, and Birthday; Penny Black “At Mimi’s Party” owl wood-mounted stamp; “Birthday” from Hero Arts; Candi Dots with Candi Fix (their die cut pop-up adhesive); Copic Markers; Stickles Stardust glitter glue; original design seen on their blog)
