Christmas Card Samples

Woo Hoo!  Me blogging 2 days in a row – that’s a first!  I love stamping Christmas cards so I find I can “churn” out quite a few once I get started.  Today I am bringing you samples made with stamps and dies I have in stock and most of these are copied from various blogs.  So thanks to the original artists and I hope you enjoy these samples.  Please let me know if you have any questions.

Change in Class

December 15, 10am and 2pm, and Thursday, Dec 20 at 2pm – “Quick Christmas Cards and Tags”– I originally planned this class with another stamp set, but since it sold out I have switched to the wonderful “Reflections” stamp set from Paper Smooches.  What’s great about this stamp set is that all the stamps are solid so the stamping is quick and easy – no coloring at all!  Please click here to see all the samples, but let me show you a couple here:

I love, love, love this paper (MME Miss Caroline Like Ledger).  I used the Taylored Expressions Rejoice stamp set for both sentiments and layered one on Label Stacklets 1 from Taylored Expressions too.  I hope you will join us for this fun class or the class this Saturday.  Check here for more details on both classes.

Blue-cardThis card shows the versatility of the Reflections stamps set.  You could easily use this design for any occassion from bithday to sympathy to thinking of you.  No matter what color the design is quick, easy and versatile.

I know this isn't a Christmas card.  A good friend gave me a pie cookbook for my birthday and I wanted to make an appropriate thnank you card for her.  Now if I just had a rolling pin I could make pies!

3D star

This star die is so cool -- it not only cuts the star it embosses folding lines so it is very 3D.  Think birthday, congratulations, etc.  Lots of uses for a great star die!

Enjoy these samples and whether you live near or far, just give me a call and I will be happy to ship whatever ou need to you.  Thanks!

Taylored Expressions New "Spectacular" stamp set

Hello friends.  Today it’s all about volume!  I am so excited to share with you a dozen samples using the brand new “Spectacular” cling-mounted stamp set and coordinating “Spectacles” die from Taylored Expressions.  A couple of caveats before we start:  most of these cards are copied from the TE blog and all these cards are quick and easy.  As I said above – it’s all about stamping a large volume of cards to have on hand for any occasion!  For these cards I used only the stamp and die set shown below; I think they are self-explanatory, but if you have any questions, please give me a call (915-833-9500) or send me a quick to hellopolly@aol.com.  FYI:  Both the stamps and dies are in stock now.

Adhesives for Die Cutting

Tombow-stamp-runnerWe are all crazy about die cuts and the more intricate, the better.  That is until it comes to adhering it to our card or page.  I would like to recommend a few adhesives that I have been using lately that work great.  First the Tombow Stamp Runner is a really fast way to apply adhesive.  Yes, it is a tape runner like so many others, but its real advantage is that it “stamps” dot pattern adhesive right on thin die cuts. Click here to see a video of this cool tool!  The stamp runner has 40’ of adhesive for $8.99 and there are drop in refills.

Tombow-clear-tabsMy second recommended adhesive is also from Tombow.  Tombow Clear Power Tabs are ultra strong squares of clear pop-up tape.  Because they are clear they don’t show when mounted behind thin die cuts.  The adhesive tabs bond on contact, can hold heavy embellishments, and can be cut into smaller strips.  There are 48 squares in a package and they cost $5.99.

Matte-mediumThe last adhesive I would recommend to you is Claudine Helmuth’s Matte Multi-Medium.  This is a wet glue that can be applied with the small applicator tip or your fingers.  What’s really good about this glue is that it doesn’t make your fingers sticky and dries quickly.  Matte Multi-Medium can also be used as an all-purpose glue, image transfer, sealer, paint extender, and to create glazes. It is waterproof when dry and acid free and non-toxic.  The ½ ounce bottle is $2.99.

I hope these recommendations are helpful to you.
