Glimmer Mist Classes: Sat, April 30 at 10am and 2pm

Glimmer Mist Classes: Sat, April 30 at 10am and 2pm

Glimmer Mist is one of the most popular products at The Stamp Act, and yet it is a product that we are not always certain how to use to its fullest.  This Saturday I will show you almost a dozen different techniques for coloring backgrounds and embellishments with this shimmery spray.  Glimmer Mist comes in dozens and dozens of colors and we will use soft pastels and a few bolder colors as we explore different ways to enhance our papercrafting with this spray.

To make this class even more appealing, with the class you will receive

FREE merchandise like Glimmer Stamps and Glimmer Screens worth over $40!!!! Better register now because we are almost full!

In the classes you will make backgrounds and color embellishments that you can later turn into completed cards.  In the pink "Rosa" card above, the background is created with a stamp and Glimmer Mist.  In the card on the right, the background is Glimmer Mist and Distress Ink plus a secret ingredient!  Here are some more samples I made of completed cards using more background techniques and embellishments.

Just Rite Cling-mounted Stamps and Spellbinder Dies” Class: Sat, May 7 at 10am

Labels-18 Just Rite Stamps is creating cling-mounted stamps (that means they mount on an acrylic block just like clear stamps) that match some of Spellbinders dies.  Simply stamp then die cut and your central image is done!  The results are beautiful!  The class above will showcase several of their sets and show you how to use these sets to create gorgeous cards.

To show you more about this concept, here are pictures of some of the stamp sets with my sample card.  Don’t miss this class!

The card above is made with the Fancy Labels set and die cute with Spellbinders' Labels  18.  The card on the right below is also stamped with Fancy Labels then die cut with Labels 13.  You can see that I also used one of the small stamps for the stamped border.  (FYI: The rest of the border is created with Martha Stewart's Double Loops edge punch).

Don't discount the smaller stamps in these sets. For the cards shown below I used the Vintage Floral Labels stamp set including some of the smaller stamps.  The "plant Smiles" card was inspired by one by Angela Barkhouse.  I first die cut the paper with Grand Nestabilities Labels 1; then stamped the images; and colored with Copic Markers.  It was easy and lining them up was not problem!

I hope you see the potential in these wonderful stamp sets.  Sign up for this class and learn more about them!

Just Rite Stamps and Spellbinders Dies -- A Marriage Made in Heaven!

Cuttlebug-Lacey-Door Deco-Burst-Bunny  Welcome stampers and papercrafters.  Today I want to share a couple of really cool cards that I made with some new stamps and a new die.  First, the card on the left was created using a relatively new die/embosser from Cuttlebug called Cuttlebug Plus A2 Embossing Folders. What’s so exciting about these is that they cut and emboss in one pass through your die cut machine.  I know they will work in the Cuttlebug and the Wizard.  For the card on the left I used new paper from Pink Paislee (Butterfly Garden) die cut with “Lace Door” and an image from one of their papers for the focal image.  For the card on the right I used the “Deco Burst” Cuttlebug die and stamps from Stampendous.  Here’s a look at all three of the dies.

Thought-of-you Vintage-Floral-1

I am also loving the new Just Rite stamp sets designed to match several new Spellbinder dies.  The cards on the left and right were both made with the new Vintage Floral Labels cling mounted set.  Both central images were cut out with Spellbinders Labels 13 die.  You can see that one has a square center opening and the other a round opening.  Besides these large focal images, the stamp set includes lots of smaller stamps that can be pieced together to create images such as the card below.

Plant-Smiles This card was inspired by one Angela Barkhouse made.  I tweaked her idea by stamping the images on white cardstock cut with the Grand Nestabilities Labels 1 die.  It was surprisingly easy to line up the stamps in a square border using the lines of the stamps and the points of the die cut paper.  I then cut 2 more of the same size die from pink cardstock to make my signature “skinny borders” and mounted the entire image on red cardstock cut with next larger size die.  Lastly I cut a top opening card from red cardstock (same size as the red mat) and mounted everything to this card.  Even though I used the Grand Nestabilities, the card size is just a little over 5¼” square.

Other Just Rite sets that match Spellbinders include “Fancy Labels” and “Kindness.”  Here are some examples using those stamps and the matching dies: Birthday-Labels-20
