Halloween Stamping

NOTE:  The Stamp Act will be closed Saturday, September 4 through Monday, September 6.

All-Hallows-Eve Labor Day is upon us, school's back in session, the days are getting shorter and the mornings cooler.  All this gives us desert dwellers hope for cooler weather ahead!  After Labor Day (in the stamping world) it’s all about the upcoming holidays.  Today let’s talk about Halloween – one of my very favorite stamping occasions!

For this card I first stamped the Distressed Crows in the lower right corner (Memory Box) in Paprika (Versacolor) on some new paper from Memory Box.  Then I added "Bird in Flight" using the same ink and "Old Fence" (both Memory Box) in black ink.  The graveyard at the bottom of the card is a Martha Stewart border punch and the "All Hallow's Eve" stamp is from Impression Obasession.  It is stamped on Memory Box paper then die cut and matted on black (both with Spellbinder's pinking circles).

Jack-O-Lanterns I love it when a little serendipity happens.  Most likely the designer at Impression Obsession meant for her stamp to just fit the largest Spellbinders pumpkin die, but it's fun to think that I discovered that it did!!  Anyway I stamped the Jack-O-Lanterns stamp in black on orange cardstock and die cut it with the pumpkin die.  Next  I created my signature "Skinny Borders" from black cardstock for a mat.  The border is the Spellbinders Harvest Border die which I used to die cut orange cardstock then popped out the pumpkins and stamped them with a Tiny Checked Background stamp (Memory Box).   The fabulous background is a new Cover-a-Card background from Impression Obsession.

Happy-Halloween-Collage

Witch-in-Cauldron-2 Isn’t this paper pretty?  It’s the new “Evening Roost” from Memory Box.  I stamped the Happy Halloween collage on this decorative paper then added stitching with a zig zag stamp from Hero Arts.  The flowers are die cut with a flower die from The Cat's Pajamas.  I added some black gingham ribbon and painted the spiders bodies with black Stickles glitter glue.

The delightful "Witch in the Cauldron" stamp is from Impression Obsession and I love it.  Inside the card I stamped "Embrace your Inner Witch" -- part of the same clear stamp set.   I copied this design from a card I saw on the I-O blog.  The witch is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black then colored with Copic markers.  The with is die cut with Spellbinders Labels 3 then matted on purple and green.  The background is a new Cover-a-Card background also from Impression Obsession.  I punched holes for the ribbon (May Arts) using the Making Memories handheld ribbon punch.
