July 2010

Recipe Box Class

Thanks for all your positive comments about our new look for the website and blog.  I know you may be frustrated with the “missing links” and missing info on some of the pages (like What’s New), but please bear with us.  When the webmaster is working on the site I cannot update content and when I am updating he can’t insert the right links!!!!  I promise it will all be there soon.  And of course I would choose to update the What’s New page during the busiest time of the year for product launches!  I have tons of photos to show you so keep checking back with us.

Recipe Box Classes

Recipe-Box This Saturday (July 31 from 10am to 1pm), we are having a very fun class; it’s the first in a series of Christmas Gift Classes that will be offered now through the holiday season.  My niece Marilee is a new bride and she keeps asking me for recipes that my Mother prepared for her when she was a little girl.  I decided to construct a recipe box (from one sheet of 8½” x 11” cardstock) and decorate it with the wonderful fruit die cuts from Spellbinders.  These are Limited Edition dies so if you like them be sure to get yours now.  They quit making them in may so when the available supply sells out, they are gone.  I have them all in stock right now so just email me to reserve yours today.

Divider-Cards-All Inside the recipe box are 9 recipe divider cards made with coordinating papers and the Recipe set from Just Rite Stampers.  This set fits the 1 3/16” round stamper so it is just the right size for making the toppers for the cards.  I hope you will join us for the class.  Please email me to reserve your spot!

Fruit-Themed Cards Class

Too-Sweet If you love the box, but don’t have a need for a recipe file, join us Saturday (July 31from 2 to 4pm) afternoon and make a set of 4 fruit-themed cards that coordinate with the recipe box.  We will use stamps from Hero Arts and My Favorite Things plus Spellbinders die cuts these really cute cards.  See the basket full of strawberries?  It is made with real wood paper from Creative Imaginations.  The Happy Summer card uses distress inks to color the fruit while Copic Markers are used on the “kindness” card.  Fun, festive and informative – you always learn something new in our classes!

We Have a New Look!

Hi stamping friends.  How do you like the look of our website and blog?  It’s all thanks to a wonderful man named Terry Littlepage, who literally just wandered into the store last week looking for business.  Yeah!!!  I am so excited to have new tools that let me communicate with you – and you with me!

The Stamp Act is also on Facebook.  At first I didn’t really think that Facebook was a tool I wanted to use, but Terry showed me that it can be a very effective way to share information with customers.  I am still learning how to use Facebook so give me a little while to get up to speed!  By the way, we will be “tweeting” soon too!  Don't worry, I promise not to clog your mailbox with meaningless trivia -- trust me to send you information that you will want.

If you already subscribe to The Stamp Act blog you are getting an email every time I update the blog.   The look of our email communications may be changing so please don’t be surprised when you see changes.  If you are not a subscriber, please send me an email at hellopolly@aol.com to join our email subscriber list and stay up-to-date with all things happening at The Stamp Act.  We will soon have a "button" on the website that will automate your subscription to our emails.  If you are on Facebook please “friend” The Stamp Act so you get those updates too!

What’s New

Another big change is that I am working very hard to bring you information about what’s new in the world of stamping and papercrafting.  CHA Summer is barely a week away and already I have placed a lot of orders for wonderful new goodies!  Check out our newly updated What’s New page to see pictures of merchandise that will soon be in stock.  Here’s a brief list of what’s coming:

New Southwestrn Stamps

I hope you will stop in and see what’s new!

Penny Black Stickers

Penny-Black-Flower-Stickers Making cards with Penny Black Stickers is always a popular class, and the upcoming “Penny Black Sticker Cards” class should be even more so.  Why? First the stickers are gorgeous watercolored images.  Second I am going to mount them on cards die cut with Spellbinders dies.  And third, we will be coloring the backgrounds with shimmery, glittery Glimmer Mist.  I don’t have any samples finished quite yet, but I will post them probably tomorrow.  This will be a popular class so sign up early!

We have several new clear stamp sets from Penny Black in stock right now.  These are always a popular favorite.  Here are two of the new sets:
