Change Speaking of classes, this weekend’s classes are really fun and unique.  In Saturday (Feb. 27, 10am) morning's Encouragement Tin class, we will alter a tin that will hold the 5 inspirational magnets that we stamp, die cut and decorate.  In the afternoon, you can learn all about making Blended Backgrounds using jumbo daubers and Distress ink pads.  Look at these colorful cards – and I promise yours will look equally good!  We will be using Hero Arts’ new Dandelion Frame stamp on all the cards. (Let me acknowledge inspiration from samples on Tosh's blog).

Memory-Box-Branch-Wreath Memory-Box-Heart-Tree Valentines Day is over for 2010, but heart stamps are still appropriate for many other occasions such as birthdays and Mother's Day  to name two.  Here are two cards that feature hearts.  On the left I stamped the Branch Wreath from Memory Box in Versafine Vintage Sepia then dotted the wreath with Flower Soft glue and sprinkled on some pink Flower Soft.  For the card on the right, I stamped the Heart Tree (the little hearts are mounted on the side of the tree stamp) in Vintage Sepia and the hearts in Memento Rosebud.  All the papers are from the Memory Box Gossamer collection.

Hero Arts Shabby Chic Cards

Aged-Background-Flower Silhouette-flowersHello fellow stamp lovers.  Thanks for stopping by today.  Hero Arts has a whole new catalogue and it is the best in years.  It features a variety of stamps from cute and whimsical to more artsy.  Hero also offers every type of stamp including wood mounted, clear stamps and cling mounted stamps. For my class this Saturday morning I tried to give each card a shabby chic look.  The card on the left is inspired by one I saw on Hero's blog by Shari Carroll.  It is quick and easy and uses distress ink pads in a unique way.  The card (above right) shows you how to color a bold stamp (the flowers are actually the negative space) in a very creative way.

This card combines several elements into one soft look.  The background is embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder and a circle is cut out of the middle with a Spellbinders circle die.  The roses are stamped in Versafine Sepia and colored with Prismacolor pencils.  The butterflies are die cut (Spellbinders) as is the sentiment mat (Labels 4).

Roses Two-Birds These two cards feature stamps from Hero's "Two Birds
Cling Set" and copy a design from their catalogue.  The stamps are stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa and colored with Copic markers.  The roses stamp is stamped in Memento Rosebud for a monochromatic background paper.

I hope you will join me Saturday to make these cards.  I promise you will learn new techniques while having a great time!

Special Classes at The Stamp Act

Saturday and Sunday, March 6 and 7, The Stamp Act will be having some very special classes presented by Kathi Anderson, sales rep for many of the finest stamp and craft manufacturers.  Kathi is certified in both Copic Markers and Merc Art metal art.  These are two of the hottest trends in papercrafting and stamping today and I am very excited to offer these classes to my customers.

These classes are open to everyone; however, because they involve what may be a new art form to many of you, some investment in supplies is required.  This is another reason that I need your cooperation in registering as soon as possible – I must order the supplies you will need in time for them to arrive for the class.  I hope you will check your schedule and let me know as soon as you can whether you want to attend.  Just give me a call at 833-9500 to ask any questions or to register for class.
