Don't Miss our Huge "Halfy Hour" Sale

Merry Christmas -- a little late -- and Happy New Year -- a little early!  Chloe and I spent a very relaxing Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, snuggling and watching sappy movies the Hallmark and Lifetime movie channels!  But our days of relaxing are over as we are now in the midst of our annual "rearrange the store and put lots of good stuff on sale" frenzy!  While I move stamps and embellishments and accessories from one room to another, Chloe provides some much needed comic relief and kisses of encouragement!

I am calling our sale a "Halfy Hour" sale because items are marked down at least 50% and most items down 75% -- that means there are tons of items at only $1, $2 and $3!  Here are just a few of the categories I have marked down so far:
Pinata Alcohol Inks were $4 to $6 now $1
Glaze Pens Now $1.15 each pkg of 2 pens
Stampendous Glitter now .75¢
Luminarte Mists, Sprays and Daubers now $1 each
Punches almost all 75% off
Selected Martha Stewart punches 50% to 75% off
Selected Cuttlebug Embossing Folders  $3
Quickutz 12” embossing Folders $2
Quickutz 12” Christmas lights die $5
Prima Bright Poinsettia flowers $2
Felt Christmas embellishments  $1
Holiday stickers $1
Hero Arts crystal embellishments  $1
Senti-metals word stickers $1
Art Institute Glitter Glitter – was $4.49  now $1
Hundreds of wood and clear stamps starting at $1

I am still marking things down but I wouldn't wait to come -- hurry in for the very best selection.  This sale will be in effect until everything is gone.  Right now everything is conveniently aggregated in baskets by price on our classroom tables.  This arrangement will remain until January 15 as classes will start again on Saturday, January 16.

Don't miss this really huge sale!

Last Minute Christmas Cards

Cats-Pajamas-Bear-wtih-tree Cats-Pajamas-Poochie I have been making a few last minute Christmas cards that I'd like to share with you.  Cats-Pajamas-Penguin All these cards use stamps from Cat's Pajamas (CPJ) and paper from Making Memories Mistletoe collection.  The bear is standing in front of trees die cut with Spellbinders Nested Tree die set.

Here are three cards I made using another CPJ clear stamp set (note: all designs are inspired by the very creative CPJ Design Team):
Cats-PJs-Reindeer-1 Cats-PJs-Reindeer-2

Cats-PJs-Reindeer-3I love this reindeer and the set includes another slightly smaller reindeerfacing in the opposite direction.  The d.p. in the first card is from Kaiser's Dear Santa collection.

Another way to make quick cards is to use the new Cuttlebug Embossing Folders -- here are some samples (inspired by the wonderful designs of heartprints.net).
Cuttlebug-Borders-1 Cuttlebug-Greetings Cuttlebug-Seasons-Greetings Cuttlebug-village-with-Santa  Cuttlebug-Xmas-Countdown

IguanaEarlier this year, my friend Agnes gave me this stamp without knowing that my younger brother Robert had an iguana (predictably named"Iggy") for many years.  I laughed and laughed and told her I would use the stamp to make Robert a very personalized Christmas card this year.  It was fun to color the iguana with Copic markers.  Thanks Agnes!

Last Minute Gifts

Nugget-Box-2 Nugget-Box-1 These nugget boxes can be addictive.  I made several for friends and family.  The box on the right is for my niece Nugget-Box-3 Emilee because it pictures a dog just like her Rex inside a gift box.  The box on the lower left is for my sister Ann who loves cats!  I also made some hot chocolate packets (see photo below).

Hot-chocolate-packets I used the Toasty Treats stamp (Impression Obsession) and a Just Rite Stamper hot chocolate stamp.  The paper is Creative Imaginations Polar Expression.

New Impression Obsession Samples

Horses Hi friends; thanks for stopping by.  Christmas is but a few weeks away so it's time to get serious about stamping some Christmas cards.  Today I have several samples to share with you -- all inspired by the wonderful Design Team of Impression Obsession.  The horses looks like it would take forever to color but because of the wonderful art work (Gary Robertson) it is very quick.  The hardest part was choosing just the right Copic marker colors.  I mounted it on red cardstock and then to DP by Kaiser Craft.

A-Star-is-Born The "Star is Born" is a darling card that is accented with liquid applique and crystal glitter.  I first stamped background snowman (baby and tree are part of the same stamp) on white cardstock then tore it.  I next stamped the snow baby in the foreground beneath the tree.  Then I stamped the first image again and cut out the snowman with baby and the tree.  Then I stamped the blue cardstock with the new "Fluff" Cover-a-Card background stamp using Moonlight White Brilliance ink.  To bring out the snow effect a little more I dusted the Brilliance ink with Ranger's Pear Perfect Pearls.  I stamped the small curvy tree twice in Memento Bamboo leaves ink and cut them out.  To assemble the card it was a matter of layering everything and mounting one of the trees with foam tape to give it dimension.  I added liquid applique to the edge of the white cardstock and to the caps.  I find it best to add glitter immediately to the liquid applique then let it dry about an hour or so before puffing it with a heat tool.  Final step was to stamp "A Star is Bron" and cut it out with a Spellbinders Nestabilities Classic Oval.  I added glitter around the oval using a Sakura Fine Tip Glue pen and crystal glitter.

Park-Fence

For this card I stamped Park Fence in Memento Paris Dusk, colored it with Copic markers and applied the liquid applique (as stated above).  I used Martha Stewart Doily Lace edge punch, white, red and green cardstocks and a scrap of striped DP from Imaginisce.  The "Very Merry Christmas" image is also by Impression Obsession.

I hope you are inspired to stamp some Christmas cards!  Do stop in this week as out Quickutz sale is in full swing.  EPIC die cut machines are $80 (savings of $20) and we have a big selections of 2" x 2" dies for just 3 and $5!!!

Stay warm and thanks for reading Stamp Action!

Crystal-Pencils You cannot appreciate the sparkle of these chic black pencils until you see how the Swarovski crystals sparkle in the light.  These pencils are black all the way through and are all over the media – they have been featured in “O” and “Lucky” Magazines and are offered on some of the most upscale gift web sites.  But the best news is that the pencils are $7.00 on many of those sites, but only $2.99 at The Stamp Act.  Customers are buying 6 and 7 pencils at a time!  They make a perfect gift for lots of people – your accountant, an architect, college students, business colleagues as well as friends and family!  We’ve already sold over 100 and I just got more in stock – come on in and buy several because they will make a very memorable gift!

Class This Saturday

Snowglobe-Capsule

Heart-Capsule This Saturday afternoon I will be teaching a class that I took from Tim Holtz at the recent trade show I attended.  It's all about using Memory frames, glass and capsules and we will make two pins.  I know these aren't the best photos; trust me there is a lot of detail in each of these little capsules.  Please plan to join us and learn how to make these.  They will make wonderfully unique holiday gifts.
