New Flower Soft Samples

CupcakeI've been playing with the Flower Soft which is becoming a very addictive product.  BTW -- we still have room for 3 more in Harriet's class on Saturday, July 18 so sign up now.  Remember you get the Flower Soft Pastel kit which contains 7 colors of flower soft.

You might not think of using Flower Soft as frosting on a cupcake but it looks great!  And of course you can choose any color including Nut Brown for chocolate.  This product is quite versatile -- use it any number of ways including for coloring bats and spiders at Halloween.

One of my customers, Veronica, gave me a great idea for using flower soft when she grabbed a Bluebonnet stamp.  below are two samples -- one with flower soft and one where I colored the bluebonnet with Copic markers.  It's a winner both ways!

New Products at The Stamp Act

ChiliHi friends and fellow stampers.  Is it hot enough for you!!!  Yes, I mean temperature wise of course!  The card on the right says it all doesn't it?  My customer Val came in to take advantage of the Quickutz sale on dies and spotted this chili right away.  I showed her the "Greetings from" stamp (Stampendous) and she loved it.  So here's an idea for Val and all og you who want to send "warm wishes" to someone!

This is also a very hot time for new products.  Many of you know that the craft industry has two big wholesale shows each year.  They are known as CHA Winter (Jan/Feb) and CHA SUmmer (July).  At these shows manufacturers release all kinds of new products so this is a very exciting time for store owners and customers alike.

You will be hearing all about the new products from blogs like mine and manufacturers websites.  I encourage you to discover all about the products, but I would really appreciate it if you ask me if I will be carrying them.  Many times customers come in the store and say "I just bought that on line because I didn't you would be carrying it."  Just give me a call and ask me ... often I will have it in stock already!

So what's new ... well of course there's a lot and I can't list it all, but here's a few tidbits:

  • Flower Soft -- should be arriving here in mid-August
    • New color: White with a bit of sparkle -- perfect for snow or Santa's beard
    • New colors:  Autumn mix -- need I say more!
    • New pre-printed "toppers" for Christmas.  "Santa" is fantastic!
  • Just Rite Stampers
    •  July release will have a fun Halloween set and several other all occasion
    •  August release is all about Christmas -- circles and ovals
  • Martha Stewart-- arriving late July
    •  Wonderful Halloween, Fall and Christmas punches
  • Quickutz
    •  July 21 is their big release date -- whatever it is it is supposed to be BIG!  Whatever it is it is something that works with the new Epic 6 die cutting system.  I will let you know as soon as I know!
    • Epic 66 -- my demo unit arrives Monday -- Yeah!  The rest of the order should be here in late July.
    • Early July Release -- see the juicy details below!
  • Hero Arts
    • Their Christmas catalog should be arriving any day.  They are offering many stamps (all??) cling-mounted -- ready to "cling" to an acrylic block.  This makes the stamps cheaper and easier to store.
  • Spellbinders -- new product will arrive any day
    • Their new pendants and borders are fantastic!  I have them on order so reserve yours today.

There are many other manufacturers and lots more exciting products.  I will let you know as they arrive so watch this space!!!

Quickutz Dies

Yoo-Hoo-Owl Our huge sale on QK dies continues so hurry in for best selection!  And to add the "cherry on top" we will soon have three fabulous NEW alphabets on sale too.  Just-A-Note These are brand new alphas that QK is offering at better than half price.  They will be alphas with each letter (or group of a few letters) on separate dies.  I hope to have a photo soon to show you.  They are also releasing many new embossing folders which are such fun for adding texture to your cards.  The card at left is one I made with the owl QK die and a Hero Arts sentiment.  The mailbox is another QK die and the sentiment is from Rubber Soul.

Sharing New Samples

Blue-Delphinium Speaking of Flower Soft, it is selling like the proverbial hotcakes!  Here's a sample I made using the Delphinium Blue Flower Soft.  Spring-BirdsThe stamp is by Penny Black and I stamped it in Danube Blue and Bamboo Leaves memento inks.  Then I added dabs of Flower Soft glue and sprinkled on the Flower Soft.  it is quick and easy with stunning results! For the card on the right I stamped Memory Box Spring Birds, colored the birds blue with a Copic marker then added Flower Soft's Spring mix.  You've got to try this product -- it will transform your stamps!

I will have more samples to share soon.  Happy Stamping!

QuicKutz Dies Have Arrived

Lace-Doily I hope you are planning a fun 4th of July weekend full of backyard burgers and lots of sun.  Here in the desert Southwest, we’re in the monsoon season so we’re just hoping it won’t rain on our festivities.  The card at left will be our free make and take this weekend so stop in and make one.  It uses the Martha Stewart Lace Doily punch and we have a new shipment of Martha’s punches coming next week. It also uses Hero Arts Wallpaper Flowers for the background and one of the four stamps in Hero’s Artistic Windows set for the main image.

New Samples to Share with You

Hello-Friend I have been playing Pink-Thanks with some new Hero Arts stamps this week and frankly having a ball.  Let me share with you some new samples I created – they are all quick and easy and will most likely be a class in August.

The card (above left) is white but my new computer is scanning badly so I apologize for the dirty look of it.  It uses 3 of the 4 stamps in the Hero' s Artistic Windows set.  The pink card above uses a Cuttlebug embossing folder (Textile Tapestry) for the background; a stamp from Thank You Flourishes for the design on the white die cut (Spellbinders Labels 4); and  thank you sentiment form Impression Obsession.  The Butterfly die cut is from Spellbinders Butterflies 2 set.

 One-of-a-Kind

To send a special thank you to a friend, I created the card at left.  I embossed the bright blue paper with the Cuttlebug embossing folder Swiss Dots; punched the fence and the tulips (both Martha Stewart); cut the grass with Fiskars grass scissors; die cut the "U.R." with Spellbinders Playful Alphabet (retired); and finally stamped the "1 of a Kind" from Hero's Thoughtful Messages. Here are a few more samples:

I used the Spellbinders Loopy frame for the card!

Upcoming Classes

Antique-Linen-FlowerSaturday, July 11th will be a busy day here as I teach two popular classes.  In the morning I will teach all about Spellbinders Impressabilities – the new very thin metal templates that emboss paper.  I will show you a variety of ways to use these to create cards with unique textures.  See all the samples for this class at http://stampactelpaso.com/JULY2009.html.

Purple-PosieSaturday afternoon I will introduce you to Blending with Copic markers.  Coloring with these permanent, alcohol-based markers yields vivid colors unlike any other medium.  Blending the colors just takes a little knowledge and the right tools.  Sign up early for this fun and informative class.  Check out all the samples for this class at http://stampactelpaso.com/JULY2009.h

Baby On Saturday, August 1, Felicity will teach a class using Spellbinders Inverted Scallop Squares and Circles die.  The Baby card at left is a wonderful example of how striking the dies are.  Unfortunately if she taught this card it would be a one card class as it is very involved!  But check out her other samples below.  All the cards in the class will be made with Basic Grey Lime Rickey paper and everyone attending will get a 6x6 Lime Rickey paper pad with the class.

  Little-Bird Lime-Rickey-Thanks

Have a great weekend and come and see us at The Stamp Act.  Please patronize your local stamp store so we can be here when you need us.  Thanks!
