November 2008

A Variety of Christmas Card Samples

I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving.  My smoked turkey, cornbread dressing and cranberry sauce turned out great and Chloe and I are both enjoying the leftovers!

Today I have a variety of cards to share with you from whimsical to collage and including cards made with punches, dies and embossing folders.  We’ve been having lots of fun lately coming up with original ways to use old and new stamps.

AMuse-Trees-lg First I will show you three cards Jeri made this week.  First is a quick and easy card using a tree stamp by A Muse Art Stamps.  The snowflakes come from the Fiskars Snowflake Corner punch and the Merry Christmas sentiment is from Memory Box.  The large snowflake (upper left corner) is created using a Cuttlebug snowflake die and a sequin snowflake and crystal accent from Hero Arts.

String-of-lights-lg Jeri’s second card is so precious.  Inspired by one we found on the Spellbinders website, Jeri created the string of lights using a Spellbinders die then colored them using a variety of inks and finger daubers from Tsukineko.  The “string” was colored using a Tombow black marker.  Next she stamped the Impression-Obsession small swirly tree in different colors, cut them out and mounted them on the top of the card.  Jeri created the “Merry and Bright” sentiment with the new Harmony Rectangle stamper and Brayton font.  Once she stamped it on blue cardstock, she cut it out with the new Spellbinders Labels One die.  Great card Jeri!

I-O-Trees-2-lg Jeri’s last card is not captured well by this photo.  It is actually dimensional!  She stamped the Impression-Obsession large swirly tree in Versacolor Bamboo ink on off white cardstock twice, one for the base and the other for the dimensional effect.  She cut out, scored in the middle and mounted on top of the base tree attaching only the center of the tree so that both sides lift off the paper.  An olive “bling” is added to the top of the tree.  It’s a cool effect that we saw Dave Brethauer (Memory Box) use recently.

Mittens-lg My first card today uses a mitten punch from The Punch Bunch and a great sentiment stamp from Penny Black.  I punched the mittens from decorative paper then added the faux fur trim using a scrap of white velvet ribbon.  The snowflakes came from the Fiskars Snowflake Corner punch.  I embossed a scrap of cardstock with the Cuttlebug Snowflake embossing folder and “strung” some cord over the panel.  Finally I attached the mittens using miniature clothes pins.  The background stamp is Hero Arts Design Block Flourish and the small brads are from the new Making Memories Fa La La collection.

Snowman-lgNext up is a snowman card created with the new Cuttlebug snowman die and embossing folder combo.  I first die cut the parts I needed from off white, black and orange cardstock then embossed the three circles for the snowman’s body.  Once I put the snowman together I saw a scrap of blue dotted paper from which I had previously cut an oval.  It made a perfect frame and matched the snowflake background paper nicely.  I embellished the frame with snowflakes cut from a Cuttlebug snowflake die and stamped “Let it Snow” from Inkadinkado.  I added green holly leaves and red berries stickers (Class A “Peels from Stampendous).  A sequin snowflake and a crystal (both Hero Arts) complete the card.

Tim-Holtz-Santa-lgMy last two cards use Tim Holtz Christmas stamp sets.  Each set contains several cling mounted stamps, ready to put on an acrylic block and stamp.  For the Santa card I used the “Letter to Santa” set, stamping Santa in black Versafine ink on “manila tag” cardstock.  This is the same cardstock that manila tags are made from; it works well with some of the techniques that Tim Holtz likes to use with his stamps.  Next I stamped the script (same set) in black along the top, bottom and left side and the fir branch (same set) in Distress Ink Pine Needles along the right side.  I distressed the edges with Distress Inks fired brick, peeled paint and vintage photo; embellished Santa with a metal “S” tied with ribbon; then  mounted the stamped panel to green cardstock.  This panel is then mounted on decorative music paper (K & Company Life’s Journey) stamped with “Believe” from the “Just Believe” set.  The finished card is brown cardstock and measures 5½” square.

Tim-Holtz-Reindeer-lg Is this reindeer gorgeous or what?  I love his graceful spirit.  During the holidays I am a sucker for watching “tear jerker” movies on the Hallmark channel and Saturday morning I watched one called the Christmas Secret which was all about a professor trying to determine if reindeer really can fly.  One look at this reindeer would confirm it!  I stamped the reindeer in Brilliance Coffee Bean ink on off white paper then stamped the trees (same set) in Memento Bamboo Leaves.  “Celebrate the Wonder” is a Penny Black stamp mounted on two oval Nestabilities.  The decorative corner is punched (EK Success) and a Making Memories brad added.

Loading_GGPro2 Here’s an update on the new Glue Arts Glue Glider Pro adhesive gun – they’re all gone!  All fourteen sold out before they hit the shelves.  I have already ordered 8 more so if you’re on the fence, get off it and email me to reserve one for you.  You will love it!

Cover-lg  Don't forget that our Recipe Book class next Saturday from 10am tp 3pm (with a lunch break).  This is a great little book and it makes  a perfect gift for children or grandchildren who want copies of family recipes!  Space is limited so please call or email me soon if you're interested.

Have a great week and please give me your comments!

Happy Thanksgiving

Fall-Tree-lg In case you think that because we live in the desert Southwest we miss the change of seasons, look at my pear tree in all its yellow, orange and red glory!  This year especially I am seeing many trees with colorful leaves. And because we haven’t had a freeze yet, the leaves stay on the trees for many weeks.

Pierceabilities-1-lgWe received our first order of Spellbinders Pierceabilities dies last week.  Felicity immediately took one of each and made fabulous cards with them!  Despite another blogger’s reservations about the dies, Felicity and later Jeri had no problem using them to cut and pierce. For her first card at left, Felicity cut and pierced the white cardstock using the Victorian die then die cut the blue cardstock using the same die.  The effect is that it looks like the white cardstock is cut on both the top and the bottom.

Pierceabilities-2-lg

I think the Pierceabilities make very attractive elements to add to cards.  On the"Time" card, Felicity used the Pinking Pierceabilities die to cut both sides of the horizontal panel.  She pierced the holes and used the die as a stencil and stippled black ink to emphasize the Fleur de Ly's designs.  She completed the card using the new Pinking Circle Dies and circle Nestabilities dies for the sentiment.

 Her final card uses thePierceabilities-3-lg

Ric Rac Scallop die with the heart which is perfect for Valentine’s Day, wedding or anniversary cards.  The Victorian die is used on the top trim of a library pocket card.  I have already reordered these and other Spellbinders dies so if you need anything just let me know!

Speaking of Spellbinders dies, I just love the Stocking die.  Stocking-2-lg It is a reflections die which means it is two dies that you cut from contrasting paper then stack on top of one another.  In this case you are looking at the red stocking on top and the red and white plaid stocking through the openings in the top die.  Felicity further enhanced the stocking by cutting the plaid stocking’s toe and top trim and adhering it to the red stocking.  Very festive!

Stocking-lg Here’s another sample Felicity made with the same die.

Felicity’s sister Heather has become quite the stamper/paper crafter.  Heather-Grad-Labels-1-lg Her daughter Abby is graduating from the

University of New Mexico next month and Heather made the graduation announcements using Spellbinders Labels One and circle Nestabilities dies.  The University’s seal is at the top (foil paper reflects the light so it may be hard to see) inside a scalloped circle Nestability.  The silver, red and white mats were all cut using Labels One.  The little coyote in the bottom corner is the school’s mascot, the lobo.  Thanks Heather for another handsome card!  And congratulations Abby!

Wreath-2-lgFinally today I will share with you some Christmas cards that Jeri and I made using two new Cuttlebug die combo’s.  Jeri embossed the wreath three times on a white metallic paper then added red berries using Liquid Pearls and glitter using Stickles Stardust glitter glue.  Wreath-lgFor her second card, she cut and embossed the wreath in green and red then added sparkle with Christmas Red Stickles glitter glue.  The wreath is mounted on white cardstock and matted with a scallop red panel, both cut using Spellbinders Nestabilities.  Festive decorative paper and a colorful bow complete her card.

For-You-Ornament-lg I made two cards using some I saw on Sue Nelson’s blog for inspiration.  Both use the new “For You Ornament” combo, eggshell cardstock with a slight sparkle and gold mirrorcard.  On the first card, I die cut and embossed the ornament from gold mirrorcard then mounted it on a background embossed with Swiss Dots.  I used the Mini Scor It tool to make the score lines at the top of the card.  A white ribbon bow completes the card.

Ornament-lg  You don’t always have to use both parts of the combo.  On the second card I embossed eggshell cardstock with the Snow Dots embossing folder then die cut the ornament.  I also die cut the top of the ornament from gold mirrorcard.  I accented the card with pearls from Hero Arts and more snowflakes using the Snowflake Cuttlebug die.  The small Merry Christmas stamp is from Memory Box.

I hope you have a very Happy Thanksgiving with family and friends.  Chloe and I will be spending a lovely day together eating turkey, watching parades and making Christmas cookies.  I hope you have a lovely day too!  Come and see us!

PS:  The UPS man just delivered the Karen Foster Advent Calendars so if you are interested in getting one of those let me know.  I have a limited supply right now.

Christmas Cards with Stampendous and Inkadinkado rubber stamps

Angel-lgToday I want to share with you three cards that I made using stamps from Stampendous and Inkadinkado.  My first card is inspired by one I saw on Sue Nelson's blog.  It features white metallic cardstock (Poarized by Paper Cut) embossed with the the Snow Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder on the cover.  I cut circles in the embossed layer and the pink card using a circle Nestability.  Inside the card I embossed more white cardstock using the Divine Swirls embossing folder.  I stamped the Stampendous Starry Angel in black Versafine, embossed it in clear then colored the angel with Twinkling H2O's Cherry Sorbet.  Finally, before I mounted the angel, I added Stickles Stardust glitter glue to the swirls within the circle frame and to the angel.  I think it needs a something else below the circle frame so maybe I will add a sentiment.

Santa-pine-bkgd-lg  My next two cards use a Stampendous cube stamp to create the background.  I absolutely love this cube and will be sharing some more cards with you using this background stamp.  This card uses the pine branch background stamped in Memento Bamboo Leaves then distressed with Ranger Distress ink (Brushed Corduroy).  The Santa and the sentiment are both from Inkadinkado.  I stamped Santa in black Versafine then colored it with Prismacolor pencils.  The sentiment is stamped in Colorbox Fluid Chalk Warm Red ink.  Both pieces are distressed with Ranger Distress ink Fired Brick.  After everything was mounted I added Stickles Stardust glitter glue.

Snowman-snow-bkgd-lgMy last card uses another side of the Stampendous cube -- this time the snowflake background.  By the way, one reason I love this cube is that it is very easy to line up so stamping a big background is very easy!  I stamped the background in Memento Summer Sky ink (it is very light and I hope it shows up better when you enlarge the photo).  The snowman is from Inkadinkado and like the Santa above I stamped the snowman in black Versafine ink and colored it with Prismacolor pencils.  The snowflakes are created using a Spellbinders snowflake die and white cardstock then stamping them with the same snowflake background.

Poinsettia-1-lg  Here's another card that uses the same Stampendous cube -- this time the flourish background.  I stamped it in Memento Bamboo Leaves and again in Memories Soft Sand.

I hope these cards inspire you.  Please let em know if you have nay questions or want to purchase any of the stamps or inks I used.  Happy Stamping and paper crafting!

More Christmas Cards

We are having so much fun making Christmas card samples to share with you.  Today Felicity, Jeri and I have used a wide variety of styles and images so hopefully you will find something you like!

Folio-Xmas-cover-lgFelicity used very clever paper engineering on this card. The panel in the middle of the card slips under the "Let it Snow" image (Just Rite monogram stamper center and border 1 5/8"). Folio-Xmas-inside-lgWhen open, the card reveals a "Merry Christmas" greeting (Inkadinkado's Christmas Tag Wishes) mounted on a rectangle Nestabilities mat.  This card will be included in Felicity's class this Saturday afternoon.  Felicity drew her inspiration for this card from one her sister Heather in Albuquerque, NM sent her recently.  Folio-Bday-cover-lg Thanks Heather!

  Folio-Bday-inside-lg

Outlines-Xmas-lgFelicity's next card uses Outlines Rubber Stamps' Christmas Layered Collage stamp.  If you're familiar with the stamp you know it is quite large, but Felicity just used a few parts of the stamp on this card.  She mounted it on a dark green panel that is punched with the new EK Success snowflake border punch.  The greeting is once again from the Christmas Tag Wishes set from Inkadinkado.

MAI-Dove-lg

We received an order from Make an Impression today and it included this new Dove stamp which I think is so simple, yet so elegant.  The dove is stamped and embossed in gold and it is holding greenery punched with the ash leaf medium punch from The Punch Bunch.

AMuse-Moose-lgJeri's card today is pure fun.  It uses the Moose stamp from Amuse, happy holidays (I think Hero discontinued), and a Fiskars border punch.  She made the "snow" using liquid applique and white diamonds (JudiKins) embossing powder.  The swirl stamp is from the Stampendous set "Swirls and Curls."

Inka-skating-scene-lg  My card today is created with Inkadinkado's "Snowy Winter Scene."  I stamped it in black on cryogen white paper and colored it with Prismacolor pencils.  I added glitter glue (Stardust Stickles) then cut two concentric oval frames.  I embossed the white frame with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder then mounted everything on a red card.

Have a great weekend and I hope to see you in the store very soon.

Christmas Card Samples

Hi friends.  Today I have a few fun cards for you including two good “guy” cards in case you have a friend, family member, co-worker or boss who needs some Christmas wishes!

Fruit-wreath-lg My first card is a “faux” della robia wreath created with punches from The Punch Bunch.  The greenery is the medium ash leaf punch and the fruit is made with the small pear and apple punches.  Add some ribbon and crystal glitter glue and you’re done.  The Holiday Cheer sentiment is from Make an Impression.  I mounted the wreath on a scalloped square cut with a Nestability die.  Quick, easy and fun!

Deadbeat-Boot-lg Jeri decided to play with the new Deadbeat Designs Christmas Boot stamp.  She stamped it in black then colored it with Prismacolor pencils and Tombow markers.  Jeri then created the background by stamping the Hero Arts Design Block Big Holiday Words in warm red chalk ink (our favorite red, red ink pad!)  Add a little ribbon and you’ve got a very festive card any cowboy or cowgirl will love!

Deadbeat-windmill-lg Her second card uses the same background stamped in Brilliance Coffee bean on kraft paper.  The bottom panel is stamped with Deadbeat’s right and left flourishes in Brilliance Pearlescent Chocolate ink.  The windmill is stamped in black on a sparkly white paper then mounted on a black panel.  Add some brown gingham ribbon and circle and star stickers from Stampendous and you’ve got a very handsome card!

Happy stamping and paper crafting.  Please stop in soon to see what’s new!

More Spellbinders/Wizard Samples to "die" For!

Merry-Xmas-Ornaments-lg

Welcome to another week of stamping and paper crafting for the fall and the holidays.  I thought we would start this week with another lovely sample Felicity made with new and old Spellbinders dies.  She stamped the new "Christmas Wish Circle" stamp from Impression Obsession in red (Versafine Crimson) and in Green (Colorbox Olive Pastel Chalk ink) on decorative paper (Imaginisce Snowy Jo) then cut them out using Circle Nestabilities.  The ornament top is from Deadbeat Designs.  She mounted the ornaments on a background embossed with the Cuttlebug snowflakes embossing folder.  This is truly a very creative, yet easy card to reproduce.

Glueglider-pro-rLet me tell you about a new product that you may have seen advertised in some of the magazines.  The new Glue Glider Pro is the cutest little tape dispenser I have ever seen.  It is small (about 4” x 6”), lightweight, and holds a cartridge with ¼” adhesive that glides on effortlessly.   Loading_GGPro2 Plus the  easy slip-in, disposable cartridges eliminate the worry of having to reload in the middle of a project.  You can easily slip out the permanent adhesive cartridge and slip in the repositionable adhesive cartridge in a snap!  No more troublesome threading or opening delicate dispensers.  And the Glue Glider Pro is only $16.59 including one permanent adhesive cartridge!  Additional cartridges are $9.99 for the permanent adhesive (40") and $8.99 for the repositionable (65') or the high tac (60') . There are lots of different adhesive runners but only Glue Arts brings you value and ease you can’t pass up. Once you glide it, you’ll stick with it forever!  Reserve yours today by calling me at 915-833-9500 or emailing me at hellopolly@aol.com.

That's all I have to share with you today.  Happy Stamping and take care.  Let me know your thoughts by leaving a comment below.  I am so gratified that so many people read my blog.  Yesterday we had over 125 hits!  Wow!  I hope I can continue to inspire you with wonderful stamping and paper crafting samples.

Stampendous Shape Shifting Snowman

Stampendous is fast becoming one of my favorite stamp companies.  Their new shape shifting snowman clear stamp set is so creative and innovative.  I remember years ago attending a pre-CHA worksop at Stampendous when they first introduced clear stamps to the industry.  All of were so leery of these new polymer stamps.  How would they stamp?  What ink do we use?  How do we clean them?  That day as my friend Sheila and I progressed through the classes, we both quickly became converts to these new fangled stamps.

Snowman-all-lgThe shape shifting snowman allows you to make all kinds of snowman: short or tall; skinny or fat; with or without hats, mittens and/or scarves.  Because the snowman's body is not solid, you can stretch it in many directions.  Today I duplicated a project that is on the Stampendous website.  It's an accordion book with four snowmen.  You can find the entire instructions on the Stampendous website, but basically I stamped the snowman four times on a four-panel accordion book then cut out parts of the images.  Once the cutting was done, I colored and dressed the snowman using Prismacolor pencils and decorative paper.  This is a great project for a very special -- if somewhat delicate -- Christmas card.  Let me show you the individual snowmen.

Snowman-1-lg  Snowman-2-lg

Snowman-3-lg  Snowman-4-lg
You can see from these photos the different "bodies" the snowmen have.  I hope to make additional cards using this snowman so stay tuned for more shape shifting fun!  It's late on Sunday and I am headed home for my Monday "day of rest."  I hope your week start well and that you continue to have fun stamping and paper crafting.

Christmas Card Samples: Punches, Wizard dies & Stamps

Oh the wonders of blogging on typepad!  For some reason it is repeating my Nov 12 posting again.  Enjoy it!  By the way, I put some wrong dates in that post for my classes this weekend.  Sorry if I really confused you.  You can always check the website www.stampactelpaso.com for the correct schedule of classes with samples.

Flower-lgToday I have some new cards from Felicity, Jeri and myself.  Felicity also asked that I tell you that her card at left was inspired by one she saw on Lynn Mercurio's blog.  It features the new Spellbinders Pinking Circles dies, a tag die and a flower created using a Hero Arts flower.  Felicity is still creating cards using the new Spellbinders dies for her November 22 class.  Here are two new cards.  Snowman-lgLook at this snowman card and you will notice you are looking down on the snowman.  The sentiment is so appropriate and it was created using the new Just Rite Harmony Rectangle stamper and new brayton alphabet.  If you've ever wanted to add you own sentiment to a card this is the perfect way to achieve it!

Stocking-lg  The card at left was made with the Spellbinders Festive Stockings die.  I love using non- traditional colors for Christmas.  The background stamp is from Serendipity Stamps.  Holly-cupcake-lg I love the next card which features the new Holly Cupcake stamp from Lockhart Rubber Stamps mounted on two mats cut with the new Spellbinders labels One dies.  The sentiment is from A Muse Art Stamps.

Santa-trees-lgMy first card today features Santa and his reindeer (Penny Black) flying over the treetops (Hero Arts) and a very appropriate sentiment from Penny Black.  Look at the trees closely and you will see snow created using white liquid applique and an embossing powder called White Diamonds (JudiKins).

Bow-tie-penguin-lgMy next card is one inspired by a calendar page I saw on Jody Morrow's blog.  This card features stamps and a card from A Muse Art Stamps and a sentiment stamp from Memory Box.  Jeri made this darling card using the new Cupcake Punch and a tree punch Punch-cupcake-lgboth from EK Success.  The sentiment stamp is from Memory Box.  Jeri made the white frosting by punching the cupcake out of white then fitting that piece back in the punch turned around and punching the top portion again. This would be a darling card for anyone who has a birthday close to Christmas.

Wordsworth-Joy-lgJeri also made this very simple yet elegant card using the "Joy" stamp from Wordsworth and holly leaves and berries stickers from Stampendous.  I you want a very impressive card that is easy to mass produce this is a perfect one!

What's New at The Stamp Act

MementoNew3The new Memento Markers will be here soon.  These markers come in 5 sets of 4 makers each and coordinate with the Memento ink colors.  They have two tips (like the Tombow markers) and are water based so you can use them on your stamps and to water color.  They are fade-resistant, fast-drying, acid-free and water-based.

VMDazzle_new The new VersaMark™ Dazzle ink pads combine all the great qualities of the original VersaMark™ with added shimmer to give your paper projects an easy touch of elegance.  The ink pads are available in Frost and Champagne.  The inks are perfect for a myriad of techniques including monochromatic and watermark effects.  They are ideal for embossing and providing a base for chalks and pigment powders. Simply heat-set on glossy papers and brayer over with Memento™ dye inks for a shimmering resist effect.  You can also use them on dark papers for subtle sparkling images and make excellent background designs and patterns.  They are water-based, archival and acid-free.

These inks and markers should arrive in the next few days so reserve yours now by sending an email to hellopolly@aol.com.  Happy Stamping and paper crafting and stay tuned for my next post when I shown you some samples using the new Stampendous Shape Shifting Snowman -- he is sooooo cue!  Bye!

Christmas Card Samples

It’s been a few days since I blogged.  My mind and time have been diverted from card making because of a run of bad luck including a flat tire and a broken telephone system.  Fortunately, my wonderful employee Jeri and her husband Steve changed the flat tire Sunday morning early and I actually had a spare phone system (I used to sell telephone equipment in another life!) which my friend Keith installed this morning.  Let’s hope the bad luck cloud has passed!

There is a lot going on at The Stamp Act this week.  This coming Saturday (Nov. 8th) I have two great classes.  In the morning I am teaching Christmas Cards with Punchwhich will show you how to use punches, scraps of paper and Wizard Nestabilities to create fun filled cards.  Here are the cards I have created so far; I am waiting for a delivery of new punches so there will be more samples coming!

My customer Marlis from

Lubbock

emailed me recently to ask me to hold the Ornate Snowman stamp from Inkadinkado for her.  I asked her if I could use her stamp to make her a sample card inspired by one I saw on Sharon Johnson’s blog recently.  This card uses the snowman stamp, oval and circle Nestabilities (both plain and scalloped) as well as the Cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder.  Yes there’s a lot packed into a small space but I think it works.

In the afternoon I am teaching Quick and Easy Christmas Cards with the goal of this class being to show you how to create cards in “bulk”.  I will admit that the Season’s Greeting card below may not fit that description, but it is so beautiful you will want to make at least one.  Plus this card uses a few interesting techniques which will be fun to learn.

Coming up November 22 is Felicity’s class with the new Wizard dies.  She is trying to make a new card every day so you will be seeing a lot of new samples over the next few weeks.  I know many of you could benefit from a Wizard refresher so why now sign up now?

My customer Marlis from

Lubbock

emailed me recently to ask me to hold the Ornate Snowman stamp from Inkadinkado for her.  I asked her if I could use her stamp to make her a sample card inspired by one I saw on Sharon Johnson’s blog recently.  This card uses the snowman stamp, oval and circle Nestabilities (both plain and scalloped) as well as the Cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder.  Yes there’s a lot packed into a small space but I think it works.

That's enough for one day.  Happy Stamping and please stop in soon!

Dreamweaver Stencil Cards

Today I want to share with you some samples I made using Dreamweaver stencils.  If you haven't tried stencils and embossing paste you are missing a very creative and dramatic paper crafting technique.  It is not hard to learn how to use embossing paste -- the paste is applied just like you were frosting a cake.  Plus there are many, many techniques for working with stencils.  In this weekend's class (Sat, Nov. 8 from 2 to 4pm), we will be stenciling with paste and using the unique JAC paper from Australia to make a very glittery card!  You will notice a "black and white" theme in many of my cards -- I like the dramatic look this color palette offered.  Let me know what you think of these cards and join me Saturday to create some of your own.

These cards were both created using JAC paper and glitter.

Carolers-2-lg  Carolers-1-lg
Black & white suits this Victorian image.  In both cases I used black embossing paste on off-white stardream cardstock.  Snowflake background is stenciled with new pearlescent paste.  Or you may choose to mount carolers on decorative paper (new K & Company Red/Green Damask).

Happy-Holidays-tree-lg  Nativity-lg
I used the Snow Splatter stencil and white glossy paste to create the background for the small tree which was also stenciled in white glossy paste.    The sentiment is one of three in a new set from Hero Arts -- I love the happy feel this sentiment has.  The Nativity and the "Merry Christmas" are both stenciled in black embossing paste on off-white stardream cardstock.  On both cards I added the silver glitter to the stars using a fine tip glue pen (Sakura).

Peace-trees-lg

The trees on this card are embossed in silver paste on black cardstock.  The Snow Splatter "background" becomes a foreground when it is embossed in pearlescent paste on acetate and mounted over the trees.  Peace on Earth is (heat) embossed in white -- it's one of my favorite stamps (from Make an Impression).

Thanks for stopping by and reading my blog.  I hope to see you in class or in the store soon.  Don't forget the Halloween sale continues -- 35% off everything Halloween!

Teresa Collins Recipe Book

Cover-lgHi friends.  I can't wait to share with you what Jeri has been working on for the last week.  it is an incredibly colorful and unique Recipe Book that will make a perfect gift for the holidays.  I know that my nieces who are starting out on their own have asked me to share family recipes, and this book will be a wonderful way to do that.  Each section divider is colorfully decorated using Teresa Collins paper.  The very best part of the book are the recipe cards that are printed 6 to a page and fit in pre-punched (for the Bind it All) page protectors.  The book will be bound with the Bind it All.  Jeri will teach a class on Sat, December 6th so be sure to mark your calendar for this fun class!  You can see all the photos on the December Class page at www.stampactelpaso.com.  Here are photos of some of the section dividers:
