Hi friends. It’s been two weeks since I blogged. Last week was crazy so blogging just got put off. But I will more than make up for it this week as I share with you many new sample cards. First, we just received new stamps from The Cat’s Pajamas and they are so darling! TCP’s owner, Alma, is a stamper and so she knows what we need to make a complete card. She includes lots and lots of stamps in her sets. From backgrounds to focal images to sentiments, everything you need to make many different cards is there. For example on this card, the cactus, the musical notes and the border are all part of the set.
The margaritas set includes another fun border.
And look how I used the salt and lime wedge to stamp a background -- fun! The P used on the Cinco card is from Magenta; DP on the first Salud card is from Daisy Bucket and the DP on the second Salud card is Cosmo Cricket.
Having the hat as a seperate stamp make sit easy to cut out and angle as you please. I don't know if the photo shows it, but after I colored the margarita, I glittered it then added glossy accennts on top for a "wet" dimensional look. And can you see how the border stamp can be curved to fit the circle? That make sit so versatile. If you like these stamps hurry in as they are selling fast. I know you will have a lot of fun making cards with them!
We also have two birthday sets and these cads were made with just one of them called "Happy 29th." This set has many more stamps in it too, so watch for more samples soon.
Another set called "You Sick Thing" is great for get well cards. Here are two I made; the "Say Ahhhh" card uses some new paper from Karen Foster and the "Chicken Soup" card uses DP from October Afternoon.
These two cards were also made from the same set -- do you see what I mean about packing each set with lots of stamps? I really like the quality and quantity of The Cat's Pajamas stamps!
Now on to what's happening this weekend in classes. Our morning class is thanks to Debbie Olson who created this project when she introduced the new Spellbinders Jumbo Scallopped Border during the debut of new dies earlier this year. The purse opens and is held shut with a magnet (Basic Grey). You can see the scalloped die was used on the top piece and the handle. The matching card also uses the same die. I am holding this class this Saturday, April 24 from 10am to noon and again on Saturday, May 1 from2 to 4pm. The purse makes a perfect gift holder for Mom, grads and birthdays.
Saturday afternoon from 2 to 4pm I will be teaching you how to use Dreamweaver Stencils with three kinds of metal. First we will emboss on aluminum (see birds in vines card) then we will move on to copper ("Gracias") and finally we will emboss on pewter ("Cupcakes").
This card is also colored with Copic markers.
Each type of metal has its onw characteristics but they each make beautiful cards. Please join us to learn more about working with stencils and metals.
The new Tim Holtz dies have arrived and I made a sample with the Vintage Alphabet die. This die is a Sizzlet strip die containing the entire alphabet (upper case only) and a number set. The die will cut paper only. I used the new Venice stamp set, paper collection and paper tape from 7 Gypsies. I cut the alphabet from vintage text paper. If you like this card check out the samples for the Male Cards class coming up on Saturday, May 8 from 2 to 4pm at www.stampactelpaso.com under classes.
On Saturday, May 1 from 10am to noon, I will have a class called Layered Backgrounds. In this class you will learn how to layer stamps to make stunning backgrounds. I will also show you how to make two kinds of flowers using Claudine Helmuth's new from Sticky Back Canvas and several of her paints. Don't miss this technique-ful class!
All the stamps on these cards are from Hero Arts.
I hope to see you in the store soon!
Hello--I just discovered your website/blog it was linked to "Inky Antics Rubber Stamps Site". I had some questions. While navigating your "products" link I was not able to click on the links to the products...all the links are giving me a 404 error. For example I wanted to check out the stamps you carry but when I click on "stamps" I get the error. Also do you carry the inky antics rubbers stamps that are in their website? I was looking specifically for Coffee girl 10455K, but the shipping is just too much at their website. I also saw on your blog that you carry copics in packs of three. Is there a discount for buying packs compared to individual markers? I can't wait to check out the store..so excited. I am just starting stamping, but don't have time for classes so I am trying it on my own. Thanks
